Kitchen Update
It’s been over a year, and we’re still getting settled into our home. And honestly, it’s still going to be awhile
(we still don’t have mirrors in our primary bathroom 😂).
I’m prioritizing the spaces I want to complete first, the common areas we spend the most time in. The kitchen being one of them.
I knew eventually I would do something with the bare wall by my kitchen sink. It’s a focal point, and every time I was in the kitchen, it just felt so sterile. I wanted to pick something I wouldn’t get sick of. I was torn between stripes or some sort of floral mural, but ultimately opted for the stripes. In my opinion, they’re timeless, accentuate the ceiling height, and bring all the feelings I wanted into the space. I wanted something dark to tie in with my kitchen island and add some warmth.
I’m still in the middle of styling the kitchen. I don’t like to rush, and I love finding things on Facebook Marketplace or while antiquing that really tell a story of who we are as a family. I don’t want to buy things just to fill up a space. I love when the elements in a room have a story and actually mean something to me.
Anyway! I’m SO happy with the wallpaper. I may add some sort of curtain/valance to the window, but I’m still deciding.
The wallpaper is the Lainey Stripe by Fabricut in Brown
I purchased two rolls but ended up only needing one. I would’ve had to pay a restocking fee, so it just made sense to keep it and make use of it. I wallpapered my pantry with the extra roll and will share pics soon! (Still not styled either 😳.)
